POSITION
TITLE: President/Chief Operating Officer
Company Background:
The organization is an Ohio 501-C3
nonprofit, incorporated in 1992. The mission is to inspire and prepare future
generations of creative thinkers through high quality science and math
enrichment programs for children in grades 2-6. The company’s current program
offerings are the highly acclaimed summer camp and the newer national
after-school program. These programs are distributed through 800+ schools in 45
states, and the programs have been growing by approximately 25%/year.
The President and Chief Operating
Officer is a newly created position that will report directly to the CEO and be accountable for the day-to-day
operations of the company.
In partnership with the CEO, the
President/COO will participate in creating the vision, and long-term and annual
strategic and financial plans, and for preparing and presenting updates and
reports regarding business operations to the Board of Directors.
The President/COO will have authority
over both the staff and initiatives under his/her purview.

DIRECT
DUTIES:
1.
Work
in partnership with the CEO to develop and update a realistic strategic plan
and implementation strategy to ensure the continuation of high quality
programs, operations and customer satisfaction, while significantly expanding
organization’s reach and financial health through both existing and innovative
new business and marketing models.
2.
Develop,
nurture and enable a high performance full-time, and contracted incentive-based
staff that will deliver and operate the programs; manage and enhance the
systems, including materials flow and control, reservations and sales; develop
new sites and markets; seek out and establish partnerships; and ensure high
quality results that fulfill the noble mission and financial expectations.
3. Significantly increase brand and program
recognition, exposure and national visibility through marketing, public
relations and private and public sector partnering.
4. Provide executive
oversight and coordination of organization’s fiscal and information systems
operations.
5.
Cooperatively
and proactively interact with parent company’s Finance, HR, IS, Business
Development groups to ensure appropriate controls within the organization, and
exploitation of all opportunities for corporate sponsorships, foundation
grants, business partnerships, and state and federal funding.
6.
Embrace changes in business and strategic directions,
and quickly define and execute appropriate allocations and levels of financial
and human resources, information systems requirements, and training and quality
assurance initiatives.
7.
Work closely with partner subsidiary to add value and
professional expertise to new program, market and curriculum development.
QUALIFICATIONS:
